Lifepoems

Looking outward, to the west
It’s my illusion; there is no rust
Blowing through the wind
Like a single speck of dust
And when I arrive there,
They’ll all know my name,
They’ll all welcome me with open arms
And they’ll all know why I came
And when they ask what took so long,
I respond a short reply,
“It’s really actually funny.
You know, with no wings it’s hard to fly.”
I have run, I have crawled
I swam until I could not breathe
I realized an inner chain bound me,
That was why I could not leave
I don’t know why it was a struggle,
There was barely any weight to bear
But when nobody supports your wants and needs,
There seems to be so much more there.
So I’ll give myself away one day,
To someone who understands
They’ll know exactly how I feel
And they’ll lead me by their hands

I really, really liked your poem so very much.
"I don’t know why it was a struggle,
There was barely any weight to bear"
My favorite lines, loved the words...
