All On, Goodbye

What made me think that
There’s no way out?
If I stay where I am
And live the life I’ve always lived,
Then my flame,
That flame I love
Will burn out
I always see smiles
I always hear laughter
And there I go thinking
That it’s me
When in the end,
In the end, it’s all of them
And to my father,
I’m sorry I never listened
To your take on the world
You’re right
You’re always right
At least it seems;
But then again, I keep asking myself,
What made me think that
There’s no way out?
I’ve sat upon a hill of gold
I’ve laid down on the chills of the streets
And still
Only do I think,
This isn’t what I’m looking for
Content with nothing that passes my way
Expecting to be unsatisfied
With every walk of life
Every choice
Every mistake
I’ll go for
I burn down the only harmony I own
So now I’m cold
It’s cold and dark
And I scream
I scream at the top of my lungs,
But no one even looks up
So, what made me think that
There’s no way out?
