Like the lowly mate-lost sparrow,
I feel the sorrow in the muffled cries
Of the grieving winter wind.
I sleep alone in the cold,
Unsparing shadows of night,
And dream of your form
In deepening shades of grey.
My eyes burn pale in a portrait
Fading colorless without you.
I wait, in the darkest hours,
For you, My Love,
While winter paints your name
In frost pictures on the window.

After I read this..the first thing that came to mind were these few words...The hour of waiting. Another wonderful poem... |
