Insignificant In Death

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Sunday, 28th December 2003 @ 03:51:15 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

A shattered cry
Emanating through moonless sky
Never being heard
Are any of the sorrowed words
Without significance
Without so much as a chance
An ill-fated dream
A tortured, echoed scream

Rising somnolence
Crippling futile existence
A love with no worth
Alone in this tomb called Earth
Destined for solitude
No more will to change the mood
It's become too tough
What I offer will never be enough

'To those I leave behind, my friends, know that I love you all. But please, don't cry for me in death. You should have cried for me in life. A life of loneliness is no life at all, as an existence of solitude is one that will die along with the bearer. I have spent every ounce of effort allotted my heart, and regretfully it has fallen short. So I leave you a shell, an enervated soul, a shattered heart. Please, just remember me for what I could never be.'

Dan?

This sounds a little stupid, but are you serious about what you said here? I mean, was this just figurative musings (we all do them) or do you really plan to?

If not, or if so, a beautiful poem here.

If so . . . God, I hope not. I wouldn't try and guilt you into prolonging the pain, but . . .

Well, just know I'd miss your writing, your personality, and your you-ness. If you need to talk about anything whatsoever, I can't promise to help, or even understand. But I romise to listed, if that's what you need.

Sorry, typoes. What I meant to say was "promise to listen".

My thoughts, hopes, and vague prayers are with you.
