real men dont rape!

Contributed by talisman on Saturday, 27th December 2003 @ 12:58:56 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

One man decides a woman's fate
he thinks it's his right
destroying her life is nothing to him he breeds hate
she is left to pick up the pieces, to fight an endless battle with all of her might

What is now left of her life?
How will she face tomorrow?
How will she overcome her strife?
Will her heart ever cease to brake from sorrow?

When will all the anger end?
When will we learn to respect the word no?
When will we learn to let go of the hatred and to make of our neighbour a friend?
Stop the violence, give love a chance to grow!

Real men don't rape!
Real men are beacons of hope and light
Real men inspire our visions and give them shape
Real men don't use their strength against woman rather they use it to help them fight!

this is an excellent poem, and you describe what you think so well, this is an area that gets me so filled with emotion at the sound of someone i know being raped or even the idea i just get so.. ugh , its nice to see that even though our primary thoughts are with the women and they always will be they are what makes every 'real man' want to be alive.. to find that some one he can be that extra special too, its nice to see someone that understands hat with every rape aq shadow is cast upon the entity that is male and its something that all of us witha good heart is doomed to face because of those that are cowards, really amazing write keep up the great work -forever_lonely

This poem...It speaks in so many different ways. Your a voice for so many women and men. I want to thank you! You made me open my eyes to see that maybe people do understand how it effects people who have been raped. Very good writing!!!!
