Reunion

Contributed by Euphoria on Friday, 30th August 2002 @ 12:29:34 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The communion of the past with the present,
The resurrection of dreams from the grave,
The dreams that were consummated in fear of the future,
They rise again today….because they can see dawn in my eyes,
And I realize that my complacency got the best of me,
As I lay low time killed me,
And in all those hours of massacre,
I lost the most important part of me,
I lost my will to try; I let my faith die,
The chord between deduction and sanity broke,
And let loose the monsters of idealistic deception,
I would have let the atrocity remain,
Had I not seen the remains of myself in a dream,
Where my soul wept by my own grave,
Delinquency had murdered me,
As I lived in my castle of pure isolation,
I woke with a start….
After years of sweet somnolence
When reality hit me,
I had to change roles….
From pessimist to optimist to realist,
And here I am…
Not so lost, yet still not found…
But reunited with the mastery of survival
And the mystery of existence.

Kind of reminds me of Simon and Garfunkle in a way. I like it, nice one mate.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
