Many a face death seems to wear.
Unknown to those around.
The cold blade on the desk,
Your fathers warm hands,
The hang-mans noose.
Many a guise, death seems to wear.
At deaths request,
Your final call.
Alone he’ll stalk,
Accompanied you’ll fall.
Never can you guess his guise
Hidden in the shadows
Transforming blinding your eyes.
Many a face he’ll wear.

i read this once and thought, yeah simply written, i get the point, but came back a second time, probably in a different mind frame, and this just struck me. the repetition of eloquently expressed phrases is very effective and the simple but profound language in the main stanzas allows the reader to feel empathy and gain an insight into the emotions conveyed. the depth of thought is mind blowing. keep writing, art saves, Kate xxx |
