At last the devil I have found

Contributed by mercedes on Tuesday, 23rd December 2003 @ 10:58:31 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

It starts with a look, a glance
A tilt of the head, a smile on your lips
A small wink of your eye
As you walk nearer, I let out a sigh

My breath catches in my throat
My chest feels at once constricted
My heart is pounding hard and fast
Maybe tonight I’ll get lucky at last

Unconsciously I slid my hands down my body
Imagining your hands there instead
At once the room becomes too hot
A cold drink would surely hit the spot

In front of me now, you stand
You lips move as you talk to me
I can only nod in agreement and hope that’s okay
As I am deaf to all you say

You take my hand and lead me away
Anywhere you go, I am sure to follow
I lost the ability to stand on my own two feet
Evil has never tasted so darn sweet

Hand in hand we walk
To the end of the world we go
To you I am forever bound
At last the devil I have found
