The gift i gave, that ring of gold. Keep on you untill one comes along, this one you will long to hold.
You will know in your heart, the one with whom you wish to grow old. Then please take my gift, remove it from your finger, this one that you will meet, in your heart she will linger. Time is what we never shared, it was never ment to be. This one that will come, time is what you will see. Take me with you when you meet her, take me to that place. There the rivers meet, where two become one. This place you will leave me there and throw my gift in the flow, then return to her, leave me there then go. When you are together, share this place with her. Share with her, this place for i will not be sad. Let her know why, this will make her glad. Make me a promise, one that you must keep. For me i beg you not to weep. This one you meet, just a thought of her, in comfort you will sleep. Bring her here and share with her what we never got to share, take her under your wing and tend to her with care. She will return this gift you give, together in hearts you will live. This place is for you and your love. This one, no one will be above. Light a candle let the glow be warm and bright, for this one i know you will stand and fight. This one will last for ever, this one will not say never. This one will lend a shoulder in times of need and not. So go in peace and remember her to me. Let her know the truth of what that ring was meant to be. When you replace it with the one for her is made. She will truly understand what she means to you, will surly never fade. I will always be where you leave me, return with her you will see. That what is truly meant to be. I will walk with you and your love. For you and i, what we had was never meant to be. Thats why i am waiting for your love i wish to see. Treat her right and treat her kind, you will forever be on her mind, together your hearts will be one.
My love for you will never end my sweet, no matter how close or far apart we are.....
My soul friend, two hearts together, with my right and left hand........

absolutely heartbreaking....to give up one that you loved to another! Would be so hard to take. You are very generous...are you sure this was meant to be, or are you just hurt because there is another! Don't give up so easily....if that's why fight for your love....convince her you are the only one...perhaps that's why she has strayed to another!
Beautifully written with much careful loving thought! Don't give her up so easily!

Miss Critters,
No, Her Name was christine, she was unfortunately taken from this world not long after we had got together, she gave me a ring to say thankyou for us being together, shortly after that she was killed in a car accident.... i cannot explain what happened, but sort have in this poem, for nearly 7 years, even after a couple of kids and a broken engagement and other lived relationships, i finally met someone that i Love so much, i have replaced Christines ring with one for the whom i write about now, we have been the best of friends for nearly three years, and our friendship will only get better... The place that is referred to in this poem is where two of Australias prominent rivers meet... |
