Trapped in Today

Contributed by rhymestein on Monday, 22nd December 2003 @ 07:23:23 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

All she see's is stress and strife,
Longing to find that better life.
Instead of fixing things today,
She turned around to run away.

Today is still and always still,
A never ending gap that will never fill.
In hope to find tomorow,
She left that self in today.

In back of her mind is this sound,
Sound of that self to "turn around!"
But she keeps walking with fear,
and a wiped away tear.

Trapped in Today,
Looked out to pray.
To get back to tomorow,
End this never ending sorrow.

No matter which way she may stray,
Her self will be trapped in today.
Maybe one day she will see,
There is only One who holds the key.

Fix things today for a better tomorow,
For future days won't be filled with sorrow.

I read your poem several times. I found it incredibly sad and very wise as well.
