DADDY LOVED HER

Contributed by Avery on Friday, 30th August 2002 @ 06:35:59 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

A day spent with friends and family
One of happiness and love
Dinner was great and so was the party afterward
Now, time to go to the hotel
Sleep your peaceful slumber
Securely with your family
Mom, your brother, your two sisters too
Father is there to protect you
Two beds in the room
You decide to all split up
Mom, brother and the youngest one
Your other sister, your father and you
Sleep your peaceful slumber
Securely with your family
But what is this going on?
Why does this feel so wrong?
Daddy what are you doing?
Am i supposed to play along?
Are you just trying to love me?
I dont understand
Sleep your peaceful slumber
Securely with your family
Mom is only five feet away
Say her name, ask if it should be this way
Mommy always knows whats best
Daddy has me pulled close to his chest
What is going on?
Why does it feel so wrong?
Daddy what are you doing?
I tell you i love you
and yearn for your approval
Maybe this is your way of telling me you love me
I dont understand
Sleep your peaceful slumber
Securely with your family
The ones who will protect you
From any harm
Little does this little girl know
If she were to tell her mommy
She would say it was not right
She should have said something on that random night
But quietly she lay
Pretending to be asleep
Hoping that she was doing what was right
Not putting up a fight
This would not end that evening
She would go on for nearly 5 years
Sleeping her peaceful slumber
Securely with her family
While no one knew
The horror she faced each night
As Daddy loved her...

That's terrible... that this happened I mean. The poem is fantastic. Really don't know what to say other than thank you for sharing with us, I can't imagine how hard it must be for you.

Keep writing

I remember this well Avery...and it has had the same effect on me now..it's a very harrowing read and deeply moving. You are brave to share this and I can only hope that expressing all the pain will gradually help you to move on with your life.
Chrissie x
