A Better Life Than This

Contributed by jme on Monday, 22nd December 2003 @ 09:48:06 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Did someone forget to give me my key
to happiness
All alone and adrift at sea
Anguish and misery
It's what's bottled up inside of me

My rainbow, it has no pot of gold
Life's not fair - so I've been told
I feel like I've been left out in the cold

I watch from the outside, while luck passes me by
Jealousy and rage, these feelings don't die
I smile, I grin, my heart it don't lie

Circumstances return me back to this place
Unable to look this World in the face

What is it I've done to be standing in these shoes
What have I done to obtain this bruise

I'm not looking for pity - Don't want any of sorrow
I'm just searching for a better tomorrow

I have felt on more than one occasion the many things said in your poem. Up and down is life sometimes...

Your poem was deeply expressed and I really liked it.
