THE GAME

Topic: StoryPoetry

it's been a long time since i was treated right
it seems that getting hurt is the story of my life
i stopped searching for what i could not find
when i thought i had a grip it slipped away every time

because all i've ever done is open up and let go
and all i've ended up with is a broken soul
so i build a wall that no one can break through
i don't join in the game 'cause i don't like to lose.

you know, i'm so fragile, my heart is still on the mend.
sometimes i get frightened it'll get broken again.
but there were times when all i ever did was smile.
i thought that i was loved, but i was only in denial

right now i'm wondering if i'm in too deep
or am i holding my breath just so i can't breathe?

'cause all i've ever done is open up and let go
and all i've ended up with is a broken soul.
so i build a wall so no one can break through
i dont join in the game 'cause i dont like to lose.

Oh wow. I have been searching for a good poem I could relate to and I think I have just foind it. This poem was great and I can relate to it so much. It is absolutely amazing. Great work here, I really enjoyed reading this. I am sorry for your pain. Believe me, I have been there before and know how hard it is. I have to say I agree with the other comments on the fact that not all guys are losers. I havemet a few that are great, namely my sister's boyfriend and a couple of friends of mine. But every guy I have ever gotten close to has just stuffed me up. Thanks for sharing this, I will be on the lookout for more of your stuff.
