The days still roll away,
Since the day I felt that way.
The word of that day was "forever"
Now today the word is "never"
Look at your hand,
Don't you feel the imprints of my hand.
Look at your lips,
Don't you taste the imprints of my lips.
Once man learns,
Life has so many twists and turns.
There was just one big one,
The one that everything was done.
The time I went to maine,
Then you left on the train.
But don't you see,
I never let go of that key.
So if you ever feel alone and on the shelf,
Remember I have the key to your self.
It's just the days still roll away,
Since the day I felt that way.
The word of that day was "forever"
Now today the word is "never"

In my mind I get the picture of saying farewell on a train platform on a cloudy day to the one you love.... ohhhh, so sad... a beautiful write.
God bless,
Ellen |
