"My life is over," said the leaf to the clover,
On his way down, (floating down to the ground).
The clover looked up and he said "My friend,
Your life is not necessarlly at an end,
just 'cause you fall."
"Soon you"ll be part of it all."
Because there's more to life than just clinging to that branch.
If you want to make your mark you got to take a chance.
You can't just leave your life up to circumstance.
Again the leaf cried out, "What can I do?"
"I'm still quite convinced that my life is through."
And still down, (floating to the ground).
The clover replied with wisdom from living.
"Don't you dare waste this gift that you've been given."
"Your life is not over, just turn yourself over, again."
"So much to do with such little time to spend."
Now the breeze huffed a puff and the leaf blew on by,
With joy in his heart and no fear in his eyes.
"Thank you clover for giving me the courage to fly,"
"And saving me from life's greatest tradgedy...to die."
And all the way down (clover's roots stuck into the ground).
"No thanks is needed," he cried to the wind.
"A candle loses nothing by lighting a friend."
And then the clover bid farewell to the newborn leaf.
"Please don't ever forget that your life is sweet,"
"Because, God only knows how much...I wish it was me."
