Kampfmaschinen

In einer Welt des Kriegs, wohnen ja wir:
Wenn marschieren die Stählmühlen,
die Computerpflanzen, und die Schiffswerften;
Ab zu Krieg; der Fabriken klappern entlang
Bebt die Erde in seinem Element,
Zu nehmen hinunter
Zur Todes schreckliche Hällen
So viele Kinder von ihren Eltern
Damit viele Eltern von ihren Kindern
Und noch mehr Schwestern von ihren Brüdern
Und Ehemännern von ihren Frauen.

Menschheit keucht und prallt, in Schreien
In den Schreien des Waisen
In den Schreien vom übertretenen
In den Schreien des Sterbens zurück,
Während auf üblen Altären,
Sieht man jene mörderischen Barbaren,
Die Diktatoren noch zu ihrem gedrehte Götter
Ihren Gebete und Blut Opfer geben
Für mehr Stürme von Schalen noch,
Und einem Hagel der Bomben,
Die Welt zu desensibilisieren-

Während Krieg uns und unsre Feinde verbrennt
Alle über den Welt schritte der Kriegesgeist Mars
Wie ein Ungeheuer, zerschmetternden Städten, Leben,
Knochen zu Splittern unter brutalem Geschützfeuer
Und Schlachtes Standarte, gelosmacht.
Zahllose Leben werden verloren sein
In diesem großen Feuerstürme;
Ein “Zivilisiertewelt” in seinem Element:
Und seh’ ich Bauernhöfe, Olivewäldchen purzeln
Die Dächer der Häuser über ihren Bewohners fallen,
Allen Witwen und Waisen zu schaffen,
Die in Qual sterben, wo, ach, Himmel!
Wo sind doch unsre Rechte?

Die Maschinen und der Mann:
Alle desensibilisierte, ein Vulkan, die die Welt überspannt,
Während nehmen die Industriellenriesen
Ihren flug zu dem Kampf: solch ist
Das Grauen der Kampf-Maschinen!
