Warmth of Love

Contributed by Hannah_jeannie_Brazeau on Friday, 19th December 2003 @ 07:50:03 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I long for the warmth of your arms,
I crave a long life by your side.
My heart belongs there in the palm of your hand.
Without you near, my life is gone.
Each season, is a reminder of
each phase with its own weather.
When we're apart, the theme is fall,
when we're together, then comes spring.
When we have fought, the winter comes
as the coldest time of the year.
When we make up, the spring returns
and in your arms , the summer lives.
To keep me warm and comfortable.
I remember when you reached for me
and when you came to me.
I remember when you told me that
you'd always love me so.
I remember all we shared together
and it always makes me cry.
To think we may not last
I want it the way it used to be,
back to those days, the good old days.
The days when you loved me,
the days when we were together,
the days were full of sunshine then.
I love that summer warmth.
The warmth of your love
is something I crave,
like one would crave drugs
i need it to survive.
I can't spend the rest of my life
living in the cold darkness of winter storms.
I miss the summer warmth I had with you.
I won't let it go,
we can't let winter stay.
The warmth of your love
can guide me through the day.
The warmth of your love
and the warmth of your smile,
will bring us back together.
Remember the happy days gone by
I want them back,
along with the warmth of your love.

I absolutely love your references to the seasons--- Robert Frost-ish in a way. And every comparison you make lines up well with the thought behind it.... very nice. And such a warm, sweet write too =)

God bless,
Ellen
