Hell

Contributed by SadnessPrevails on Thursday, 18th December 2003 @ 11:44:41 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Watching the clock move, with each tick my sanity slips.
Reaching into darkness, grasping for anything.
Sliding through the tunnel, Hoping to survive.
Running towards the small light, only never moving forward.
Tears fill my eyes as i realize i will never escape this hell.
I sink into the floor and curl into a ball,
wallowing in my shame.
A sudden light shines upon me, as I open my eyes it slips away.
I shut them again as tears slide. As the
bell rings in class I gather my things and
leave, and though I move to different rooms,
My mind stays blank, having thoughts of death and darkness pummeled
into my brain.
Walking silently along the hall looking slightly confused, getting stares
from other students,
I do not care. For I am still in my box, the space I call my own.
I cannot escape this horrid place, no matter that I try.
Alone I crouch, Alone I sigh, Ever alone I cry.

This seems to me like teenage angst. It's common, believe me, I was like you a few years ago. The beauty of life is making something from tragedy. Knowing life is bad, yet turning it into a poem, a painting, a song. Something possitive. You've moved along...you've surpassed the pain and turned it into art....ain't it wonderful. Art sometimes begins with pain. How can you know love without experiencing the opposite?

Very good writing!
We all are our own prisoner from time to time.
I like the other comment too as we can't right well if we don't experience it most of the time. Some of it comes from the brain but this one by passes the brain and goes real deep.
Awesome work!
peace, joy, luv,
emy
