When Friendship Dies

Contributed by blueheart on Thursday, 18th December 2003 @ 10:01:18 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

There comes a time when friendship is lost,
Old alliances fade and loyalty is torched,
And in these times all words are weightless,
Instead of friends you've found your haters.

I turned around too late to know,
You stabbed my back, stooped so low,
To turn things around, I tried to do,
But everything else was up to you.

Too bad I've been forgotten,
It's a shame I've been pushed out of place,
These people whom I grew up with,
Refuse to remember my face.

So as I leave on this traceless track,
I've felt the last of your attack,
For in my past you will remain,
But in my future you will never see me again.

NICE WRITE... I went through this recently too but I think I chose a less tactful approach when I put it to poetry... this is good!!

Oh wow! I went throught this! Hypocrites alright! Makes me so angry. Your write is so true for me! Every word! Hopefully even the last two lines, as I was so upset and then so furious and then numb and now I just hate...not a good way to go, but hey it's life right and they aren't worthy of being called friends. Excellent write. I hope all the best for you because I know how hard ths is to go through, don't give in. Let me know how things go.

Emma.

Ah, another fellow countryman (or countrywoman)...what a well-written poem...I have had these kind of friends too and written about them but it never came out as well as your poem here. Good work!
