My love is like a red rose

Contributed by MissLee on Thursday, 18th December 2003 @ 05:41:08 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

My Love is like a bright red rose
From my heart it stems and grows
Where it will go no one knows
I need you here
I need you near
Through time and grief I shall wait
Untill we are brought together by fate
I have decided to set him free
No more shall love for him be in me
I do not care how much it causes me pain
I will not love him again
I have you and you are all I need
For to love him as well as you would be only greed
I have sown my heart back together
I give it to you forever
I gave it to him and he threw it away
I took it back today
He no longer posses my soul
I give myself to you, now I am whole
He is but an old memory
Of some distant past that is hard to clearly see
It is foggy like an old photograph in black and white
You shall always stay with me even through many a dark and lonely night
I love you my dear
And I wish you were here

Oh miss Lee....that black and white photograph will fade but it will never go away. Sewn your heart back together again have you? Does the scar bother you much in the cold when you are alone, as mine bothers me? My heart is now a patchwork quilt...LOL. I loved the poem.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
