I can't ask you for forever
For forever is too far away
I can't ask you for your heart
For your heart is locked away
I can ask you for tomorrow
I can ask you for today
I can ask you for this moment
I can ask you for right now
Would you share with me your sorrows
Your lonliness and fears
Would you share with me your smiles
Your joy and happiness
Can I have from you your kisses
Can I have from you pure bliss
And if only for this moment
Can I have from you your tears
Tears that tell your story
Tears that fill your soul
Tears that fell on your worst days
And led you to your best
Can I share with you that look
Hiding in your eyes
Can I give to you a promise
One I shall never break
I won't ask you for forever
But can I ask you for today....

I like this a lot, terrific write, it can easily be understood, and related to.
