Are our lives mapped out in the stars?
Or does ones’ fate lay with oneself?
For every one of our hearts,
Does there lay on some great shelf ,
The plan that is our life?
Does everything just happen, or does some other take a part?
Tis a question I, once upon a time, asked myself.
The answer is neither one
And yet both.
Into your own heart you must delve.
Every person believes a truth that is truly their own.
My truth lies in neither or both,
But in a compromise between the two.
Tis seen by but a few,
That our lives, in our hands, are not solely rested.
Yet we do play a part.
With choices we are vested.
And we choose with our heart….
Tis seen by but a few
That fate does take a part,
But she has a lot to do.
So she made a map that tis each of our hearts.
And on this map, on our lives, highways grew.
On each highway there is a life, maybe a few.
They travel along these paths,
Each road, with meaning, has been construed.
And when we come to the fork in the road
It tis our choice on which we want to take, and to where we shall go
Yet remember that fate made the highways of our hearts
And No matter which we choose upon or blunder,
Fate sees that whatever or whoever we need to meet along the way,
At least once,
We do….
On life’s grand highway,
Yes, fate takes a part,
But when you come to the next fork in the road,
Leave with her the choice not solely vested.
Remember…
In your hands your life is partly rested…

I read your poem several times. Found something new and remarkable with each reading. It is like brain food and allows the reader to expand their thinking.......
I am impressed with this, thank you for sharing.
