Rest In Pieces

Contributed by thatabbygirl on Wednesday, 17th December 2003 @ 05:51:49 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Your flawless face
Your lovely clothes—
You, my porcelain doll,
You are a thing of beauty—
You will be my friend.
My other friends left me behind

But you will stay here with me.
A thing of such beauty could never hurt me.
But, as I slowly exposed my soul to you,
I misread your loving smile
As mocking,
And I threw you down in disgust.

Now you look up at me in pieces,
Your smile gone.
It seems I have wrongly broken you—
Like all the others—
And I weep, bitterly blue,
For you have left me too.

So very sad and soulful. Gripped my heart strings and tugged really hard...
