I wish I could be you
So speechless and so into

I wish I could make myself
Forget my old life and everyone else

I think I could hope for
Something so wonderfully new
Forgetting all the old days
I wish I could be like you

I wish I could be here
So careless and without

Drag my fun times to the bad
Laugh as I walk away, you sitting with your doubt

Close my blue eyes and whisper
All the things you don't want to hear

I wish I could still feel those things
Growing old now, and I've lost the fear

Oh, I wish I could drive you into tomorrow
But, you've left me here today

I wish you could walk all over me
But, you chose to run away

I think I could hope for
Something so wonderfully new
Forgetting all the old days
I wish I could be like you

I could dance with you until the sky turned red
You could step on my feet all day
And all the apologies you never said

Toasting our new will for something
Fall into the deepest love

When sorrow battles happiness
Oh, push comes to shove

Silence falls onto anything
And, I'd rather be here

I wish I could be you
The strength you seem to possess

I could forget life isn't forever
Complain, whine, and stress

Angry further than forever
You never seemed to care
I laugh at your cold stares these days
And, I forget all that I dare

I wish I could be like you
As beautiful and wonderful as things can be
Toast it up tomorrow
For all the could be passing, between you and me

I'd wish for this forever
Until I found myself

I wish no one to ever be like you again
And I wish for you to be someone else
