The Alchemist

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Wednesday, 17th December 2003 @ 07:00:21 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

He searches for a way to endure
Through wizardry and science to confront his fears
Alone with his thoughts and wasted attempts
Again to consume this mix of blood, sweat and tears

Sanity growing more unstable
Along with the volatility of each amalgamation
Buried within his twisted mind
What he truly craves is quiet cessation

Injected with defeat
Within the bottle swirls the vile potion
Imbued with failure
Once more to imbibe this insipid brew of emotion

Admiring the half empty chalice
Formulaic demise leaves him lost in thought
Contemplating the fatal infusion
With no record of the solution he had sought

Consumed with this arcane chemistry
Trying every combination to reverse lost years
Throughout all that's given and taken
The only remaining constant is the factor of tears

And still he strives on and on
Searching for any way to weather and endure
He shuts his eyes and drinks the vial
A last resort for the final cure

Oh My VS.....this was deep, but no less profound.
The mind of a very lonely man, who has seen, to be found.
I was mesmerized with this one for sure.
Is there really a cure?
Great work.

A last resort for the final cure...

Absolutely incredible. I don't know how you do it.

Keep writing or else,
-Eve.
