sessions at the asylum part 2

Contributed by merry on Tuesday, 16th December 2003 @ 09:11:30 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

this place is unfamiliar to me
the streets a gentle blur
through a veil of tears
and yet i do recall
that once we walked this way
in younger carefree days
the shops were filled
with wondrous things
and friends we met aplenty
braved the cold and winter storms
to gather for a drink or two
and dream about the future
oh what plans we had back then
we thought we would succeed
so many gone and buried now
it makes me feel quite old
and success it came and went
on the winds of fate it blew
hot and cold for all of us
if we only knew back then
all that we know now
