The MAGICAL OAK TREE

Contributed by sweetangeluk on Monday, 15th December 2003 @ 04:07:49 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

She sits thinking of that magical oak tree
With initials engraved so bold for all to see
Reading the letter it said been searching for you
We are both married committed, what are we to do

I have been a demented man these past few years
To only hear from your lips you've shed no tears
There is a large wood at the far end of the lane
I shall wait for you there, sheltered in case of rain

She held her hands to her throat, she was feeling faint
Her head was spinning,
She was born with the passion inside for only him
Tormenting passion of a young girl what a sin

The day arrived for her to visit him down by the wood
It was raining so hard, knew in her heart she should
When she reached the opening her eyes full of tears
Tears washed him from her vision, wiped away her fears

They moved simultaneously, together in time
Mouths open to speak, like two children in mime
They ran together for shelter under the large oak tree
The rain coming through the branches, this love to be

Their mundane pleasantries ceased, rain hissed and spat
The wind whistled through the old oak tree where they sat
Through each others eyes they saw lust passion and desire
She looked more beautiful than ever, set his heart on fire

Their bodies trembling together for love, he asked was it to late
Was this a statement or a question, she knew that it was fate
Where they cursed in love to be tortured and left alone to cry
A disease called love its in their blood, will carry it till they die

Oh My Sweet angel.....that was spectacular!
Marvelously written, imagery devine. It would be not lying to say this poem was very Fine. Timing perfect, so was the rhyme...I'm so glad I caught this read....it will go down in time. Romantic, superb...talented indeed.
I'll not miss another of your delightful reads.

This is a good poem. I have one question in the 4th stanza and third line why did you call love a curse?
