Wide Open
cold, desolent, and wide open
the chill of frost
misting in a winters breeze
velvet now caressing her skin
candles burning in the darkness
their flicker lashing out to a sin
no more passion
the mouth of a strange woman
taste of honey ever so sweet
lay down now child
let the boogie man go
dance now to the rythym of gunshots
watch them all bleed
ground now covered a glistening white
trees dead and withered in beauty
covering the acres
of our lost lives
no more passion
I am now broken
lost within the darkness deep
so you can just
shove another demon down the hole
let the smoke rise
and tear away a piece of your soul
look into your own eyes
tell me what you see
a vision of a dragon
all that is left of me
no more passion
only tears fall from these eyes
a new sense of deceit
blinding the innocent
deflowering the virgin
taste of honey running her through
the beauty has become stagnant
its just one more day
one more day to regret
one more day
one more day to forget

This poem makes me feel like nobody cares about anything that happens in the world anymore, let alone daily life... ...and death is overlooked. I really liked this poem because it makes you feel like you are inside of it. It's really cool! :) |
