A Memorable Day
Oh Day, - :Rejoice! - oh Day Historical!,-
Spread the good news , the sing and dance with glee,
Praise our soldiers! - for most pivotal,
Is this great day of moral victory!
The fiend was caught dug in and so well hid
Deep in a rat hole and bedraggled much,
Had all forgone his erstwhile wit and grit
Before the army medic’s probing touch.
Oh Justice - Justice - he who had denied
It to his people for so long a time,
Will now be judged by them, - and judged aright,
By Justice high, unspeakably sublime
They found the butcher- not in palaces,-
But in a rat hole hid the Ace of Spade;
The vampire fangs no longer venomous,
And he was meek, or so reporters said..
Harsh long endurance, pain and toil paid off,-
We bow to fighters and their victory!
To them our hearts go out in fervent love,
Thanks, thanks for setting tortured Iraq free!
“GAUDETE”! - this momentuous event
Took place on the “Gaudete Sunday” friend,
I trust that all of you will understand
The day it happened was no accident!.
