Slinking down, yeilding to the bitter pain
Through dying eyes
The fighting is insanity
And the sun so bright.
Trampled battlefields
Green grass dyed red
Frightened souls led by loathsome tyrants
Falling for false causes
Petty feuds they know naught of
Hating the enemy
Not because of injustice
But because of the myth of injustice
Propaganda
Sweet lies whispered so convincingly
Into willing ears
The lies build
The tide of anger rolls and overflows
Blind, unfounded rage
Hate is bred out of nothingness
Bred to fill the void
Men fall through the ages
Clad in shining steel, bright red uniforms, green fatigues
The names change
But the story stays the same
Dying eyes see so clearly
The dead piling high, seas awash in blood
And the sun so very bright
Tasting metal now
Warmth from within fills the mouth, spills past the lips
The smell of charred flesh, nauseating
Pain subsiding, numbness closing in
The sun so blindingly bright
Dying eyes see so clearly the lies.
