a dozen flames

Contributed by desertwispers on Saturday, 13th December 2003 @ 05:11:22 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

One spark in the night will cast a halo of light
atop twelve white candles pure as the winters snow to send a message to Amber that we all miss her so.

Twelve small flames will flicker together
bright as a summer sun each one represents
the life she lived and all the good she had done
bringing a light to each soul who came to know her

A north wind may blow bringing with it cold
but for this brief moment of time
each shall hold true to a memory or two
and the wind each flame will confine.

Twelve flames will burn and a heart or two may yearn for the sweet spirit gone from our midst
each heart will beat to a single drum
as some hold on to things that wont break.

We have said these words of heartstrings
they may strech but they wont break
as time goes on some may find
forgiveness for the man who did forsake.

Until then we will light a dozen white candles
and hold the bright flames close near our hearts
sing to Amber a Christmas song
that will float off and up to her in the winter dark.

I am your desertwisper Shelby from the mountains
of home............................
