So many times I thought that I
Was making the right choice
And so many times my dreams were crushed
By authority and voice
Life took me away
To a far away place
I don’t know where road’s gonna turn
But there’s nothing I won’t face
Dreams can never die
They can disappear but always come back to you
No one can change you
No one can break your heart
Unless you want them to
So go on now, take your wishes
Go now on the road of your own
Jaded are those you tear you down
And place themselves on a throne
You can make in through life
Just skip along the way
Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise
You can chose where you want to stay
Dreams can never die

Unless you want them to
Take all that’s been thrown at you
And make the best of it all

Only one thing better, would be to hear you recite this poem...i'd clap so loud for an encore....they'd thow me out!
My what an enlightening, thoughtful poem. My favorite line "Unless you want them too!"
My favorite poem of all times says the very same thing "I am the Captain of my ship!"
and at a young age...you have wisdom that is superb!...there's one person that stands between us and the whole world. that is us...
we can filter any thing that hits us first, and decide if we want it to affect our hearts or not!
We are the captain's of our ships....and I just loved your poem alot! and alot! and alot!
