The Birth Of Jesus

Contributed by Jeff_Scott_Morehead on Friday, 12th December 2003 @ 11:26:32 PM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

The Birth Of Jesus

Tonight a feeling has come over me,
Like I’ve never felt before.
Though I’ve tied putting it in writing,
Words could not explore.

What’s going on in my mind,
What’s really inside my head.
Too many years I’ve kept it hidden,
As if the thought was dead.

But now I can longer contain,
What I’ve known all along.
And for this Christmas season,
I’ll sing it in each song.

Upon this very season,
The Savior of the world was born.
Why so few have accepted him,
Continues to keep me torn.

The Wisemen knew his worth,
With just the glance upon his face.
They knew the presence of the Lord,
Was surely in this place.

In a humble stable,
In The town of Bethlehem.
Born was the Savior,
To rule all God’s land.

So as we celebrate Christmas,
Let it be a reminder of his birth.
That God sent his only son,
To save the men of earth.

Even though this ins't the Christmas season right now, I'd like to say- awesome poem! I love this line: "Why so few have accepted him,
Continues to keep me torn."
I knew exactly how this feels. God bless you, and keep writing for Him!
