If it weren’t for you
Not one word would I have written
But somehow you knew
My lack of expression would be ruin
So many thoughts and feelings I had
Were locked up tight within
One atop the other they’d add
A jumbled mess, where peace should have been
I have yet to write it all down
That’s ‘gonna take me years
I’ll probably use every noun
Before this mess starts to clear
This is a new ability
A challenge to begin
Yet I’m enjoying thoroughly
My journey to within
I’m still in a state of disbelief
That so many others relate
For me, there’s been much relief
To find that inside we all equate
I really must say thanks to you
For leading to this discovery
I’d never have had a clue
It would begin my recovery
