in the mirror

Topic: Lifepoems

you say
i'm so beautiful
like i'm perfect
you act
like thats all that matters
that its what makes life
life
and you can't understand
why i'd want to change
or
all the insecurities
you just can't
comprehend

i look in the mirror
see every last
inperfection
notice every flaw
that isn't even there
i turn to the side
to see
if my stomach
sticks out
am i gettin' fat
it does
i suck it in
let lil out
till i see what i want
am i becomin' aneroxic
i think its just disstorted
no one even listens
they think its all a joke
but
its not
i think my stomach is gettin' big
but
i know
i'm not fat
but
it look that way
when i look
in the mirror

Yes, we are hardest on ourselves. I have found it is just better to ignore what I think of myself to a point and listen to others to a point... Good write.

I liked this. It made me realise how polite we all are to eachother and how hard we are on ourselves (at least you women are........on yourselves at least)

But the real problem is Satan in the form of the "Beauty Product Industry" nagging away at you all the time.

Excuse me while I go and write a nasty poem about them
