“What are you thinking?” You asked
My thoughts are like the autumn leaves
That are swept up by a summer breeze
Each thought, a leaf, spinning and twirling ‘round
My feelings, the wind, suspending them above the ground
You want to know how I feel inside
But it’s easier just to run and hide
For my head is spinning much too fast
Full of hopes for the future, and scars from the past
Have patience, the leaves will settle down
They’ll come back to rest upon the ground
And when they do I’ll rake a pile
Full of thoughts of you that will make me smile
Don’t wonder ‘bout this silly grin
It’s the pile of leaves that makes me smile within
And so my dear with one last rhyme
I ask from you, for just a little more time….

From me, you can have anything you want; even if your desire was time. |
