Grief

Of a long time ago
Back then when she didnt know
What hate really was
And what it does
To you
An innocent child
Her mind was wild
Playing and shouting
If only she knew...
What was to become
Of all the jews
Sitting one day
When the skys looked grey
That poor little girl
Was taken away!
To the camps
She was brought
They wouldnt let her go
No matter how much she fought
Kicked her legs
Raised her fists
Try as she could
She could not twist
Free
Starved and beaten
Sick and sad
And that even wasnt as bad
As the
Chambers
Poisinious gas
Her life did not last
She didnt know what to do
And
All because
She was
A
Jew

You have reminded me of the atrocities inflicted upon the jewish people. It also reminded me that it was not only jews who suffered in the concentration camps but they were the focus because they were in the millions. I can only pray something this horrific will never happen again.
Thank you for sharing this poem.
