Mother's Love (Abuse)

Contributed by broken_wings on Thursday, 11th December 2003 @ 09:11:45 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Alcohol set
Upon the table
Crazy mother
Very unstable

Very scared
Sitting on the floor
Don’t know what
To be waiting for

Another blow
To my head
And soon I will
End up dead

Injecting drugs
Into her veins
Becomes all numb
And can’t feel pain

Smoking a lot
Can’t breathe fresh air
Unholy stink
Everywhere

Cuddled up
I shake and cry
Fearing that
Today I will die

Don’t know if
Dad will come back
Not like he cares
About something like that

Try to shout
HELP ME PLEASE
Begging mother
On my knees

Beats me once
Beats me again
This daily routine
Will never end

Play it back
In my dreams
Never forgot
What she did to me

Still a child
In my heart
Everyday
Falling apart

Watching my mother
A portrait it my mind
Smoking, beating
Never kind

Good daddy
Only he cares
“Beating”, he says
“Is only fair”

twisted and sad... I liked the line structure and what not. I hope you realize that beating someone is not love. Take care of yerself.

Very sad... no child deserves to be beaten, and it is definitely not a form of love.

This broke my heart! I can relate to the daily beatings though. I too belong to allpoetry.com as www.allpoetry.com/teardrop.
