what you always wanted

Topic: HumorPoetry

it was what you wanted
you finally got
what you always wanted

"insanity"
it sounded cool
when you feigned it
for the guys at school
all a joke, but you loved the feel
as they laughed and as you drooled

now it's gripping
taking hold
now you find you've lost control
in that rubber room
there's no where to go
does it still feel fun?

it was what you wanted
what you always dreamed of
you finally got
what you always wanted

you scream and scream
(is it all a dream?)
but the needle still sinks in
the orderlies don't disappear when you blink
and soon enough
your head swims again
and it's all a blur of horror

haha, i think i'm starting to get the joke now

it was what you wanted
what you always wanted to be
you finally got
what you always wanted

it must have been all the LSD
that i slipped into your coffee
i was just trying to help you
realize your dream

now the doctor has the face of a freak
but you've screamed yourself raw
and you're too drugged to speak
so you cry inside, it's all that's left

at my new job as an orderly
come to give you your shot
and laugh as you bleed
oops, missed the vein
oops, missed again
oops, oops, oops, oops
hahahahaha, yeah, i definitely get the joke now

and i bet, somewhere, you're laughing too
and thanking me for helping you
after all, thanks to me
you finally became what you wanted to be

this reminded me of One flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. This struck me as entertaining in an odd sort of way. Very well written and put together.
