I hold the end in my hand.
I have trembled before it’s power.
Power given by me, to take the power away from me.
Singularly a doze, together forever.
It’s promise tempting and final. The silence, too loud.
A matter of seconds, an eternity. It’s weight,
almost nothing, too much to bear. I close my hand,
running away from running away, cowed
the possibility brings me
to my knees.
I have held the end in my hand.

you express the weight and substance of "the end" in a very powerful manner. I like this a lot. |
