My Dream

Every morning when I wake
I wonder if I’m in a dream
How much time will it take
Or are things really as they seem?

It’s been long since I‘ve woken this way
My dream lingers, as does my smile
My true feelings it does betray
For it has lingered awhile

I think I’m still in shock
Or maybe I’m still asleep
In a safe place, these memories I’ll lock
And with them the feelings will keep

I feel I can take a deep breath
And I’d never realized
My heart had been so close to death
Now, I’m once again alive!

I guess to others I seem silly
Maybe they think me daft
No more existing glumly
I’ve left my frown in the past

Some people would ask for a pinch
But that’s not to what I aspire
For right now life’s a cinch
And to keep dreaming I desire

I could dream for all time with ease
I know that you could too
If you had dreams like these
You too would dream life through

I guess someone woke up on the right side of the bed this morning. I woke up thinking of you so I woke up on the right side of the bed too.
