The cheating partner

Contributed by mercedes on Wednesday, 10th December 2003 @ 06:22:24 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

You were cheated on, its all so very sad
You were the innocent, the victim in this game of love
It is so easy to blame the other
Everyone knows you would never make such a mistake

You are perfect, gave yourself fully to your mate
You did no wrong, you were always there for them
You listened, you talked, you laughed, you cried
You were supportive and never fought

They did you wrong
They showed their selfish side
They only wanted what they desired
Not caring how much pain they caused

Its funny though how you cannot say why they did it
Isn’t it a little selfish of you to put all the blame on them?
If you truly cared that much for them
Wouldn’t it only be fair to hear their side of the story?

I hear so many times couples are together for years and years
After one mistake, it ends with no words exchanged
Did those previous years mean so little
That it is not even worth five minutes of your time?

Because I have cheated you figure I am defending my own
Believe me I’m not, I know what I did was so very wrong
I was stupid, selfish, and looking for attention
It’s a mistake I’ll take to my grave

You think it was for love, companionship, or sex
For me, it was punishment
You cannot understand what or why
No reason for me to even try to explain

I have to remember there are the ones who make mistakes
Who spend their lives walking on eggshells
And then there are people like you
Who wouldn’t know a mistake if it knocked you on the head

Wow... You where right. In any event I understand it. I liked it. Hey I gave em like 6 chances... I think that was way more than enough. I never cheated on her though even though it crossed my mind repeatedly ecspecially after.

Show me the person who has not made this sort of mistake and I'll show you an Angel (not a human being)

We were created (as a species) to survive and to do this the race needs to diversify.
Societies that continually interbreed eventually disappear.

So deep down "hormones rule OK?" This is natural not a mistake.

BUT and it's a big BUT........our intelligence and civilisation asks us (nay demands us)
to make sacrifices for it's continuance and stability. In this event small mistakes are of no significance in the whole stucture. They can and should be patched up. They are normal, NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!
