Colors of Beauty

Stuck in all the colors.
Orange and red leave me alone.

Going out of my mind.
These colors are my own.

Crinkled eyes that see us.
Laughter that it shared.
Remember what surrounds us.
The color takes you there.

Lost in a maze of beauty.
As life struggles just to get me down.
Fall back into the colors.
Close my eyes, hit the ground.

Crunch of leaves that catches me.
The smell of something old.
Wrap myself in the colors.
Close my eyes, break the mold.

Clutching leaves of trees caught dead.
And, colors that drive me to bliss.
Tears that fall forever.
All the colors, you will choose to miss.

Smile sweet and tell you.
A lash you won't remove.
Teary-eyed and wondering.
The colors that invade me, and the feelings you'd disapprove

Grasping my surroundings.
Catch my breath and wonder lightly.
Lay me to sleep when you get a chance.
Set me down ever so slightly.

Stars the shine upon me.
The leaves that cover my face.
Smile with all the colors.
Finally, finding my place.

Goodbyes that never find you.
Smiles that never will.
I always laughed forever.
I can smile even still.

Fade into the whispers.
Dreams that color fold.
Smiling even more now.
Breaking out of the mold.

Colors move to chills.
Dancing along my spine.
The beauty of this life surrounds me.
And echoes of sadness flee my mind.

Stuck in all these colors.
The blandness of despair.
Forgetting what was sorrow.
The colors take me there.

Goodbye could never feel so right.
And the colors always could.
I guess I have lost my senses.
I guess I always would.

Failing over and over.
The colors catch my fall.
Close my eyes and sleep through tomorrow.
The colors are still my all.

No memories to remind us.
No tears to mark your face.
I smile for all the reasons.
The colors that hold this beautiful place.

Wow... this entire poem is like a journey through the mind of a lover. I really like how it's presented.... just amazing. My absolute favorite things about this are the mental pictures I could get from it. Amazing. The length wasn't that bad either. Usually I don't take the time to read long poems, but this was well worth it, all the way. You did a marvelous job =)

God bless,
Ellen
