The Agony of Our Spirit

Contributed by maryetta on Wednesday, 10th December 2003 @ 09:23:36 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

my heart cries i watch her fade away
i am helpless to stop this dread disease
i lay awake at night crying my heart out
why are we plagued with this unholy terror
each year we have the agony of our spirit

there is no cure we have no choice
our heads bow pray for some strength
their minds slip further away as we watch
why is this allowed Father why we cry
each year we have the agony of our spirit

our faith is tested to the limit we still pray
we dont understand we hold our faith
it is the only thing that keeps us going
Father give us strength and courage
each year we have the agony of our spirit

this goes on every year till nothing is left
they are a shadow of what they once were
we are just going on what God gives us
in the end they are released but at what cost
each year we have the agony of our spirit
