The Importance of Woman

Contributed by norm on Tuesday, 9th December 2003 @ 10:28:24 AM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

I'd like to find a place somewhere
To live my life without a care,
Where weather comes on gentle lee,
To damage neither man nor tree.

Where breezy wafts massage the skin,
And heaven is a place within,
The noises from the city streets,
Are all replaced by ovine bleats-

Where ice and snow just do not know
To find a way nor how to go,
Where ne'er too cold or ne'er too hot,
Where love is blooming like as not.

Yet, now you hear the truth be told,
I care not if it's hot or cold,
I love a wench with sparkling eyes,
She thinks I'm great, so I surmise.

As long a she and I co-live,
All my love to her I give,
The weather is a minor plight,
For I am bundled thru the night..

Nice read! This place you are thinking about...at last look, the sign on the door read "No Vacancies".

Norm, this poem was so sweet, cuddly and warm. I think you are thinking of a Paradise forlorn! What a nice tribute too, to your beautiful Shirl lady.....but did you have to ruin it by calling her "Wench" which of course will be replaced with a Wrench...and rightly so.....
A beautiful poem about love, and devotion, and you had to throw it to the sharks in the ocean, to be torn to bits because you used wench and not lady fair? Don't show this one to Shirl....unless you don't care, are you a unfeeling Teddy Bear? Geeeees, I never!!!!!

In protest to those with wicked minds
the dictionary defines WENCH good

only mean WENCH in the nicest sense

Dear Mr. Turkel
Words in the dictionary simply don't count.
The word gay used to mean happy and dancing about! No more!
The same with wench....in this generation....the good part of it walked out the door....If you're called a "Wench" now days...deplore! The caller will be knocked to the floor! You simply have to keep up Mr. Turkel with the times, and be very careful what words you use in your rhymes!
Thanking you,
lovingcritters
