A Mother Forever
For 18 years I watched you grow,
At times fast, at times slow.
From a baby, to a teenager, to a man,
You slipped away like grains of sand.
You started a life, apart from mine,
Now I only see you, when you find the time.
Off to college, you moved away,
As I try to find things to fill me day.
Once your smiling face was a household fixture.
Now all I have left is your graduation picture.
They say the time has come to have time for me,
But a mother forever, I’ll always be.
