When the Universe Ended

Contributed by KellyA on Monday, 8th December 2003 @ 10:26:15 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I saw the universe in your eyes the other night.
The galaxies were close, as the stars were bright.
They said that the fire within you will always burn,
And that when the sun goes down, I will know where to turn.
They said that when the world turns upside down, you will be there, and I will lie awake knowing that you care.

But your eyes lied, and the universe came to an end.
Yet in the aftermath, the world began to mend.
You were in the midst of it all, your eyes the same,
Those hardening eyes I had once tried to tame.
I finally saw that they were really cruel and uncaring
And I became shocked that I could not see what you were truly bearing.

Marvelous poem Kelly A.
You can always tell in their eyes....those that have no feelings not even for themselves. This was a great poem Kelly A explaining how you knew who he was. I'm so glad he's out of your life...he would have made you so miserable and filled you with strife. cutting you loving heart from your chest, and never giving you any rest. I was married to one, KellyA I'm so glad you found out before it was too late.
Loved you poem
