It has all come back to me

Contributed by misslee on Monday, 8th December 2003 @ 10:21:08 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

All the pain has caught up with me
Can you not see?
My love you broke my heart
Now I am back at the start
You gave me life and took it away
I wish I was not here today
I cannot sleep
For all night long I weep
You were my savior
Now I wish the world would do me a favor
I wish I had never met you
But there is nothing anyone can do
To ease my pain
For I am all alone again
My life has no meaning
For all my time is spent grieving
For a girl who's life is sad and torn
I feel so old, so worn
It feels like it has been years since those good times we shared
When you were my friend, when you cared
What am I to do?
For no matter how hard I try; I cannot fall out of love with you

"I cannot fall out of love with you."

Nice.

That's definitely an intruiging reuse of the cliche.

Romanticly hopeless...I've seen someone like that. Thankfully, they were strong-willed and had heart's big enough to accommodate the insensitivity of her significant other. I do hope you're the same sort.

The poem itself embodies the emotion quite well, and I'm sure all the sympathetic hearts out there will hear you as much as I have. If you've read the ill-comment on my frank nature, don't worry. This poem transcends what I think I can help on.

Just out of curiosity, though, is English your native language? The poem itself gives off a rather formalized, "foreigner" sense. The way you avoid contractions and use "cannot" simply for the sake of using it...

I may be wrong, but that's not common for most Americans.

"Elliptical dreams for intangible reasons; Ethereal sights of illusional seasons." ~Eternity's Lyre

wow this is very sad.. I can relate to this at one point in my life.. its horrible to love someone who don't return the love.. it's even worse when you have memories that you hold dear to your heart... I hope you feel better.. someone who will love you will come along.. don't give up hope and a great write

Peace and joy

This was good. You fully expressed how you felt.
