I can only manage so much
In this life and in this world
I can’t hold my head up high
I’m not a very proud girl
Every time I tried to fly,
I fell so far down
And then I look at you watching me
And screaming at me while I drown
Carrying the world on my shoulders,
I heed your discontent with what I do
And all it makes me do is work harder
I guess I need you
And every time I get the strength to stand
Further and further I fall
If it weren’t for you,
I wouldn’t feel so small
Every time I tried to fly,
I fell so far down
And then I look at you watching me
And screaming at me while I drown
