You try so hard to cling onto something
But you have nothing left
The weariness inside your soul
Will reveal the lies that you've kept hidden
Inside your sould forevermore
The artificial light inside will never cease to burn
To show the hope that you once held
To show the dreams that used to yearn
Inside your soul forevermore
The dreams that used to thrive
Are frail and left untended
Purposeless; left alone in darkness
You can no longer hide what is revealed
Inside your soul forevermore
You have nothing left to hope for
Yet you will never cease to search in vain
A lowly passerby...
May hold a second chance
Yet will only cause you pain and shame
Inside your soul forevermore

| Sighhh...I have felt that same kind of stab into the heart...once...love is often sweet but at times it is a bitter pill. But then again love as in war has no rules and is never fair.... Forevermore.....forevermore...forevermore...nice echo...signifying perhaps that the hurt will last forever...or just the memory of that failed attempt at love...anyway...it reminds me of the Raven by poeo...that haunting repetition...nice though. |

| I really like your poem. I have so many feelings that I share from what I have read. It is so hard to fall in love with someone who doesnt show the same feelings back.....Its awful... |
